Brass Monkey (ex-The Lord Burleigh), Victoria
FancyaPint?'s review...
The name change and refurb a few years back don't seem to have hurt this now rather modern drinking establishment. The exterior is quite a pleasant shade of green and the nice bay window remains, but the inside is more trendy bar than traditional pub. Still, the food menu looks reasonable enough, if a bit more upmarket, and its just far enough away from Victoria Station to mostly avoid the excess of afterwork drinkers. There's a couple of beers on the taps and a rather inexpensive wine list. If you don't mind a few fumes, there's tables on the pavement, particularly if the weather's nice. It's obviously doing something right, as it's still going strong.
