The Well, Clerkenwell
FancyaPint?'s review...
This place really needs no introduction, it's one of the earlier trendy bars in the area and has appeared in countless pub and bar guides before. It gets pretty crowded at the end of the week, especially in summer and that's when it can often be better to go elsewhere. But if the crowds are thinner and your wallet's up to it, it's not a bad place at all. The drink's interesting - continental beers on the pumps such as Hoegaarden, Leffe Blonde and Paulaner Weiss bier - the wine list is OK, the gastro-type food is decent and the service is good. Look out for the fish tanks in the basement bar, too.
